Winter in the Hochsauerland – A real winter wonderland!
⛷️ Winter sports paradise in the heart of Germany
Winter in the Hochsauerland. The season in which the snow transforms the otherwise green landscape into a true winter wonderland and the ski areas welcome many enthusiastic winter sports enthusiasts.
The region can proudly call itself the "largest winter sports area north of the Alps" and has more than 130 lifts and 300 hectares of slopes. It is also the closest ski area to the Netherlands. Less than a three-hour drive past the border and you will find yourself in a fairytale landscape. The larger ski areas in Willingen (12 km) and Winterberg (17 km) are just around the corner. Would you rather roll pizza slices in quieter areas? The Schlossberg ski area is less than a 10-minute drive from the Waldhof.

✅ One of the highest mountains in the Sauerland (almost 800 m)
✅ 4 ski lifts with usually short waiting times
✅ Breathtaking panoramic view from the top
✅ Slopes for every level – gentle slopes for beginners & steep slopes for experienced skiers
