You'll find Waldhof Hochsauerland in the picturesque mountain village of Düdinghausen, right in the heart of the Hochsauerland hill range. Thanks to its many hours of sunshine, this region is also known as the "Tuscany of the Sauerland". It's a place where you can enjoy nature, adventure and peace in every season.

Active in Nature

As a hiker, you can start directly from the village with routes such as the Geologische Rundweg, the Sauerland Höhenflug and the Medebacher Bergweg. Cyclists are also well catered for: Waldhof is located right in the middle of the Bike Arena Sauerland, an area with a massive 1,700 kilometers of routes for mountain bikers, road cyclists and gravel specialists.

Winter, culture and history

In winter, the region transforms into one of the closest winter sports areas from the Netherlands, with over 60 kilometers of slopes around Winterberg and Willingen. If you prefer cultural experiences, visit towns like Korbach, Frankenberg and Marburg, or discover the Orange heritage at Schloss Arolsen and in Dillenburg.

Your stay

You'll stay in a (modernized) hotel room or apartment, almost all with a private kitchen or kitchenette. As a small-scale, family-run guesthouse, personalized attention is our priority. Start your day right with our sandwich service or join us for breakfast in the breakfast room.

While we are not a restaurant and do not serve dinner, as a guest you can enjoy our Waldbowls: fresh and affordable meals for those who prefer not to go out after an active day. Our offerings change daily and range from international classics like Ravioli Napoletana, Butter Chicken Curry and Bami, to traditional dishes such as Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (tagliatelle with veal ragout in cream sauce) and a Bauerntopf (German stew). These meals complement our Waldkiosk, where we also offer various drinks, snacks and souvenirs.
